Who May Post a Link to the School ADvance Assurances Document for Michigan Users?

Only districts and/schools/school organizations that hold a limited license for use of the School ADvance Administrator Evaluation System may post a link on the district’s or school’s public web site to the School ADvance Assurances Document for Michigan Users.  Additionally, in posting a link to the Assurances Document, the district or school is verifying that it has adopted and is implementing the School ADvance Administrator Evaluation System as described in the companion document, titled: “School ADvance Administrator Evaluation System Implementation Fidelity Guide for Michigan”. 

What is the School ADvance Assurances Document for Michigan Users (also referenced herein as “Assurances Document” or “the Document”)?

This document provides all of the assurances required by Michigan statute for administrator evaluation.  The document may be updated from time to time as the School ADvance providers continue research and development work.  For this reason, Michigan users are instructed to post a link to the document on their public web sites rather than download it for direct placement on the web site.  School ADvance will only verify the authenticity, accuracy, and currency for the Assurances Document posted on the official School ADvance web site.

Who Must Post a Link to the School ADvance Assurances Document for Michigan Users?

Per Michigan Statute, Sections 1249 and 1249a (MCL380.1249 and 380.1249a and 380.1249b) of 1976 PA 45, as amended by PA 173 of 2015, local school districts (LEAs), Intermediate school districts/educational service agencies (ISDs/ESAs), and Public School Academies (PSAs) must begin posting the assurances required under sub-section 1249.b.2 by the beginning of the 2016-17 school year.  This can be accomplished by providing a link on the LEA, ISD, ESA, or PSA public web site to an assurances document provided by the developer/provider of the administrative evaluation system that the LEA, ISD, ESA, or PSA adopts.

What must our LEA, ISD, ESA, or PSA do to post a link on our public web site to the School ADvance Assurances Document for Michigan Users?

In order to qualify to post a link on your public web site as a means to comply with the requirements of 1249.b.2 of PA 173 of 2015, you must agree to all of the following terms.  Failure to agree to or follow the terms outlined below will render the School ADvance Administrator Assurances Document for Michigan null and void for the LEA, ISD, ESA, or PSA that posts a link to the Assurances Document.

Terms of Use for the School ADvance Assurances Document for Michigan Users:

  1. A Michigan LEA, ISD, ESA, PSA, or Private School (herein after, referenced as “You”) that holds a valid license to use the School ADvance Administrator Evaluation System and has adopted and is implementing the School ADvance Administrator Evaluation System as described in the companion document, titled: “School ADvance Administrator Evaluation System Implementation Fidelity Guide for Michigan” is authorized to post a link on their public web site to the Assurances Document upon agreeing to this list of terms with an “Accept” response, followed by the name and title of the school official authorized to agree to the terms.
  2. The Assurances Document may be revised and updated from time to time; therefore, the Document may not be copied or distributed in hard copy or electronic copy.  For purposes of communication and dissemination of the information in the Assurances Document, you are agreeing to utilize a direct link to the Document in any and all communications to internal staff or external stakeholders regarding your Administrator Evaluation System.
  3. If you are in full compliance with all the terms of use for the Assurances Document, you (the LEA, ISD, ESA, PSA, or Private School) may post a link to the Assurances Document only on your internal website and/or server.  You may not distribute the link to other non-internal web sites or servers. 
  4. You do not have permission to down-load, modify, or use any portion of the content of the Assurances Document for any purpose without the express permission of School ADvance.
  5. You must provide the following attribution on your public website and internal server to identify the source of the Assurances Document along with the link to the Document.  Here is the proper attribution: “School ADvance Administrator Evaluation System Assurances Document for Michigan Users, © School ADvance™ All Rights Reserved”.
